Piston corer (8m,20m)

Piston corer is a sampler to take sea floor sediment in long length(20m maximum). It is composed of a 1,250kg weight, duralumin pipes that is 92mm outer diameter and plastic inner tube that is 80mm internal diameter. The core length is adjustable up to 20m, using some 5m pipes.

Multiple pilot core sampler (Ashura)

Multiple pilot core sampler is used to take sea floor sediment. The average thickness of about 30cm sediment can be sampled. This sampler is also used as the pilot corer of the piston corer.

Sample core push-out system

This system is used to push-out the seafloor sediment from a plastic inner tube of the piston corer.
