GANSEKI : Deep Sea Floor Rock Sample Database
GANSEKI(*) is the deep sea floor rock sample database provided by Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (hereafter JAMSTEC).
GANSEKI offers users accessibility to the metadata and chemical analysis data of rock samples in JAMSTEC. These rock samples were obtained on deep sea floor all over the world by JAMSTEC via its Research Vessels or manned/unmanned Deep Sea Submergence Vehicles.
On this site users are able to search our database for rock samples by locations, ships, date and also by rock name or descriptions, and to see the details of metadata and chemical analysis data (if available) of rock samples and download chemical analysis data of selected samples in CSV file. It is also planned to collect chemical analysis data posted on scientific papers by means of this database.
Users who want to be provided these rock samples are able to see photographs of the samples as well as chemical analysis data. They are encouraged to access to the Data Management Office in JAMSTEC via e-mail. We thank to the researchers, marine technicians, ship engineers and every one concerned with these rock samples.
*"GANSEKI" means Rock in Japanese.
