About BISMaL Mapper

Overview:

The BISMaL Mapper for Marine Species Distribution, in short, BISMaL Mapper, is an online tool developed as the subsystem of the Biological Information System for Marine Life (BISMaL) by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) for visualization of the distribution of marine organisms and spatial variation of marine biodiversity. This tool enables to create a distribution map of marine species or figure representing the spatial variation of marine biodiversity easily and quickly. You may also draw graphs based on the occurrence records of marine organisms on BISMaL Mapper. By default, the data retrieved from the BISMaL is provided for the visualization on this tool. Additionally, you may register and login to the system to upload and visualize data downloaded from the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) or Global Biodiversity Information Facility, or that compiled by yourself.
