1. Cruise code : |
|

2. Main research theme: |
Temporal biogeochemical changes in the western North
Pacific. |
|

3. Objectives: |
Temporal biogeochemical changes in the ocean have to
be clarified for evaluation of the global warming and the prediction.
Objectives of this research cruise are to evaluate biogeochemical changes
along 155 degree East in the North Pacific, to clarify a relation between
biogenic gases and biological activity, and to elucidate the biogenic
gas flux through the air-sea interface. |
|

4. Outline of observation: |
1) |
Measurements of temperature, salinity and oxygen profiles
using CTD/O2. |
2) |
RMS water sampling and analysis of salinity, oxygen,
nutrients, CFCs, total alkalinity, DIC, DOC, and pH. |
3) |
RMS water sampling for dimethylsulfide, phytoplankton
pigments, heterotrophic bacterial production and other biological properties.
|
4) |
Underway measurements of pCO2, DIC, temperature, salinity
and nutrients. |
|

5. Main research area: |
The western North Pacific:Area along 155 degree E between
35 degree N and the equator. |
|
