1. Cruise Code : |

2. Main research theme : |
Biogeochemical cycles in the western North Pacific
Community structure in the time series station K2

3. Objectives : |
Temporal biogeochemical changes in the ocean have to be clarified for evaluation of the global warming and the prediction. The objectives of this research cruise are to understanding biogeochemical cycle using sediment traps, to understand food chain and marine biological system, to evaluate biogeochemical changes along 155 degree East in the North Pacific, to characterize chemical properties along the Kuril Islands, and to elucidate the biogenic gas flux through the air-sea interface in the northern North Pacific.
