Theragra chalcogramma スケトウダラ／スケソウダラ - Biological Information System for Marine Life

体はやせ形で、全長は 80 cm に達する。背鰭は 3 基あり、2 基の臀鰭はそれぞれ第 2 背鰭、第 3 背鰭に相対する (Senou, 2008)。下顎の先端は上顎を越えて突き出る (Nakabo, 2000)。色彩は背面が緑褐色から褐色で、暗色斑がみられる (Cohen et al., 1990)。本種は北太平洋の寒帯、温帯に広く分布し、カリフォルニアからベーリング海、オホーツク海、北日本の太平洋岸、日本海から知られる (Cohen et al., 1990)。生息水深は 0-515 m (Senou, 2008)。
