General
Cribrinopsis fernaldi is a sea anemone bearing long, tapering tentacles that are usually white with irregular red or yellow stripes (Siebert & Spaulding, 1976). It was originally recorded from the Pacific coast of North America and also found from Japan Sea. The species is dioecious. Females brood embryos in their gastrovascular cavities and release planulae after brooding (Siebert & Spaulding, 1976). The association with shrimps belonging to the families Hippolytidae and Pandalidae is known in the sea anemone (Stevens & Anderson, 2000).
