General
The tube is flexible and with obvious growth collars in anterior region. The tube length attains over 60 mm, and outer width of top funnel opening is up to 13 mm. The maximum body length is beyond 50 cm, and obturacular length can reach nearly 13 mm. The antobturaculum of adult is surrounded by up to 35 pairs of branchial lamellae. Peripheral lamellar sheaths are up to 3 pairs, which is the smallest number in the genus. There are numerous small papillae topped by oval cuticular plaques on the ventral surface of the vestimentum and on the trunk. Plaques on the vestimentum are similar in size to those on the trunk. The species has been found from hydrothermal vent fields in the South Pacific: the Brothers Caldera in the Kermadec Arc (1,598-1,604 m), the DESMOS site in the Manus Basin (1,900 m), and the TOTO Caldera in the South Mariana Basin (2,935 m) (Kojima et al., 2006; Miura & Kojima, 2006).
