生態・生理
フサゴカイ類の棲管中に棲息する。雄がハーレムを形成することが知られ、一つのフサゴカイ類棲管中に雄 1 個体と雌複数個体からなる繁殖集団を形成する (Tanaka & Nishi, 2008)。また、雄には大型、小型の二型が存在し、小型の雄は大型の雄が形成するハーレムに侵入して繁殖するスニーカーであることが示唆されている (Tanaka & Nishi, 2011)。
形態
大型の雄の体長は 3-6 mm 程度（大顎は除く）。
水深
1-5 m。
分布・生物地理
茨城県沖および宮城県志津川湾（北緯 38 度 38.519 分、東経 141 度 29.020 分）。
