概要
ダーリアイソギンチャクは北太平洋の 100 m 以深より知られている。生時には多数の触手で覆われた口盤が大きく広がり、海底表面まで垂れ下がる(Dunn & Bakus, 1977)。楕円形の口も触手のために外側からは確認が困難で、見た目には触手で覆われた低いドームのように見える。砂泥底や砂利の上に固着しない状態で生息し、深海の底生動物群集において、個体数や重量の上でしばしば優占する(Dunn & Bakus, 1977)。
